Kirkharle Lake Activities
To celebrate the 300th anniversary of the birth of Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown at Kirkharle we have created activities around Kirkharle Lake. These are aimed at helping with exploration of the lake and aspects of Brown’s work as a landscape architect.
The activates are designed for a one day visit to Kirkharle. We have created two sets of activities:
- one set is aimed at Key Stage 1; and
- the other set is aimed at Key Stage 2.
Both sets include tasks where the children are helping ‘Capability’ Brown in his work. This includes exploration, maths, creating maps and drawing. These tasks are broad enough to encompass a wide variety of subject areas within the curriculum.
All of the materials are available as free downloads below (clicking on the documents will open a new tab).
To book your educational visit, please email: info@kirkharlecourtyard.co.uk or call 01830 540 362
